I found this 1975 D LMC with an odd mint mark. It almost looks like am OMM but I know that it is not. It looks like someone glued another D mintmark on there but it is solid as a rock. Is this an RPM? I think it is an RPM but I can find NO matches for it. I want to think it took some well placed hits but there is no smearing. Insight please.

I disagree. Don't think it is damaged, appears more a multiple hip MD viewing that angle pix(good pix BTW). Note depth of devices. Mintmark is quite deep (still) while date shows signs of polished die(thin, shallow). What happens on a bounce, it will catch in its twisting movements on the "highest" devive(s), in this case, the MM.

Thanks Crazyb0! MD does make sense as you can see different striations going up the mintmark.

Definitely Machine Doubling. The device has been reduced in size, and shows that shelflike look to it. It's a good example.

I agree with Crazy. Machine Doubling, I don't think it's PMD.
