Latest Acquisitions, 1833 And 1813 Bust Half Dollars

They both arrived in the mail the same day and these are just preliminary pictures, LOL. #1, 1833, O-104, R1; the coin has some luster left where my arrows point, the details say AU-50 but the apparent rubbing marks force me to give it the Bonedigger Numismatic Trust (BNT) Grade of XF-45. #2., 1813, O-102 R-4, a very nice example of a typically soft struck coin which lacks milling and usually is an overall mess; typical for an early US Mint issue. Notice the clash marks (shield) near the ear. This is one of the tough varieties for the year 1813. The BNT gave this coin an AU-50 based upon others in worse condition receiving EF-40s and XF-45s and the strong details (meat) of the coin. The 1833 is between xf and au but it is always hard to tell if you dont have the coin in your hand. Great coins none the less! Report this Post to the Staff
