I am just new to coin collecting and found this 2017 nickle. There is about a dime size half circle on the front. Can anyone give me information what this mistake is called and if it has value or may have value later? Thank you!
To CCF! That's Post Strike Damage ( PSD), meaning that it happened after it left the U.S. Mint. It's not an error unfortunately, just a damaged Nickel.
Bummer. Well thank you all for your reply. Still new at this didn't consider that rolling them could have that impact. Great thing to know. I appreciate your help. Good luck to you all!
