My wife handed me a tin of coins yesterday.

In the tin were several of these Nordic Gold Euro coins. I'm probably the last person in line but I had never seen any of these Nordic Gold coins.

Apparently the composition is considered Aluminum Bronze with bronze itself an alloy of course. I guess they also have hypoallergenic properties as well. I thought they were interesting.

Here's an Italian 50 Cent example

Thank you all!
Excellent acquisition, lahave! I suppose that "Nordic Gold" sounds more upscale than "Aluminum Bronze".

HondoB I also read that the "Nordic Gold" was considered for our Sacagawea dollar

lahave56, I think that would have been a better choice. Manganese is a very poor material for coinage.

I can't believe that I never posted either of these before - the first Peseta and the last Franc.
