Both of you would be correct in assuming it is a type B reverse, that it is made using a proof die, but that is because the coin itself is a proof. Also, sorry for a late response.

In answer to your questions:

The coins are pretty small at 11mm in diameter each.

Unfortunately, I kind of doubt that you will be able to find them individually since the coins belong to a coin set called the Noble 7 Set. Stock photo below.


On top of that the set is relatively rare at only a thousand sets made.

I bought this set off of ebay from a seller in Germany and it took couple of years of looking for one to pop up in an acceptable price range.

The original issue price for this set in 2015 was quite a bit to much in my opinion for what it is at 1500 Euros and it sold out at the mint.

All in, I ended up paying about $755.00 which is still a lot in my opinion since the melt value of the set is less than $200.00 but it is a lot less than the original issue price of around $1850.00 in 2015 and I have no idea if or when I might come across another one in that price range.

One of the many projects I have going is collecting Canada Small cents. Got a couple upgrades to my date set. I think I may have to start looking for different varieties now.

1947 (Maple leaf)


Both of these coins have an iridescent blue toning on them that my camera is not picking up. The discolored spots on the 1942 are actually blue in hand, while the 1947 shows this blue over the whole surface of both sides.

France - 1799 (L'An 8) 5 Centimes, Lille mint (W)

8/7 RPD, recutting on N/A/S in FRANCAISE, left slanting milled edge.

Privy marks angel and caduceus

AE, 28mm, 10.0g diameter, 2mm thick; 9.5m minted.

The French might call this B; I call it US VG. Lovely brown color with smooth surfaces, the only major distraction being a rim bruise at K11. Much better planchet than usually seen on lower grade examples.

Enhanced lighting for detail; coin is darker in hand.
