Just waiting on one more coin to fill the very last hole - a 2021-S Silver proof. (It's in the mail) But in order to have every Kennedy proof coin, I need the 2014 Special edition proofs and the 2019 Reverse Proof Collecting since 1972. Learning from then on "Tell me and I forget. I like the design (it puts most of the recent UK commemorative coins to shame) and I remember the day of the Challenger disaster when I was working in London, phoned a friend I was going to meet later, and he told me he'd just seen it on TV. I think it's a lovely tribute. Very impressed by the quality of the coin, packaging (less bulky than Royal Mint cases) and dispatch time. Less impressed by the carrier, UPS (not USPS). I don't know who they contract out their services to in the UK, but they made no attempt to deliver the coin to my house, or, if they called when I was out, they didn't leave a message. It was only when I checked the tracking number that I found the package had been left at a general store 2 miles from my house! But I didn't have to pay any extra tax or import duty! Princetane Pillar of the Community 4628 Posts	Posted 06/03/2021 05:10 am These sets of Greek Olympic coins which also coupled as the last official circulation coins of the Drachma, before they switched to Euros there. Series of 6 x 500 Drachma coins all issued in 2000 showing Olympic themes such as the arch at Olympia. We also have wrestling, the Baron De Coubertin and Spyridon Louis the winner of the Marathon then. These 4 x 100 drachma came out in 1997/99 and were also used in circulation as well. Further inflation of the Drachma in the late 90s and early 00s saw the 500 coins also become circulating pieces with 500 Drachma being worth just over 1 Euro. Report this Post to the Staff
Princetane Pillar of the Community 4628 Posts	Posted 06/03/2021 05:16 am Another set that fascinates me are Zimbabwean bond coins issued in 2014 and still used now. Tied to a US Dollar they trade for much less. Issued in 2014 from 1c to 50c, they added $1 and $2 coins in 2016 and 2018. $2 and $5 notes were added and a limit made on them for Zim citizens, but this was broken by corrupt politicians discovered with bricks of the Zim $5 note! The coins themselves are intricate You will notice the coins do not say "Zimbabwe" anywhere, just RBZ on the back (Bank of Zimbabwe) mainly as the people have no faith in the hyperinflated Zimdollars of the past! These could become rare over time as US Dollar and South African Rands are used mostly there. Report this Post to the Staff

We all know about their gorgeous silver shillings and the big bronze pennies of Edward VIII, but the 3d and 6d were overlooked. They are tiny cupronickel coins and quite plain. Both were only minted in 1935 and 1943 (6d) and 1944 (3d). The 3d is quite common being used a lot, but the 6d is scarce and as small and cheap as it looks, a worn example is a $15+ coin. Much later is the 2008 2 Kina coin, a one off issued to celebrate 35 years of the Central bank, this coin is 33mm in size and bimetallic. It was only issued that year and is their largest circulating piece (The 1 Kina was 32mm but shrunk to 30mm in 2007) and is worth around 55 US cents (The Kina lost a lot of value). Just proof there is more to me than Halfcrowns, NZ, Florins and my big interest in coins period. Report this Post to the Staff
