Charles (1506-1555) poses some problems because his large silver, and gold coins with portraits are very expensive, so I've been keeping an eye out for a copper coin with a good portrait, and got this one recently. I now all but 2 of the coins (One day soon I will show all of them together). The gimmick is that each year they issued a different climate zone 2017 - Tropical (Hummingbird and flowers) 2018 - Sub Tropical (Antelopes? at a Tree on savanna) 2019 - Temperate (Rabbit in a field near trees) 2020 - Sub Polar (Elk on a frozen tundric landscape) 2021 - Polar (Pinniped diving near iceberg and ice landscape) And each of the 5 mints (Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart and Karlsruhe) had a slightly different coloured polymer ring for their coin. Now with Redlock's help I have all but 1 each of the Tropical and Sub Polar and these are no doubt coming! A Tropical and Subpolar Tropical and Subpolar But to make it even better, was a year earlier in 2016 they started these polymer ring coins with a series known as planet earth and these coins have become very scarce and collectible, yet Redlock has secured for me 2 of them. These are stunners and he informs me that more are arriving! Planet earth G and J coins. Even better is that Deutsche Post is very efficient with these letters taking only 2 or 3 weeks to cross half the planet itself! Thank you Redlock! That means I have all 25 of the climate zone coins now! That is phenomenal. Even better is the 3rd Planet Earth coin came too. This is the Berlin one, the very first from early 2016.
