Arrived today, the 1975 Panama proof set. The 1, 5, and 20 Balboa coins are 0.925 silver, the 20 Balboa being 60mm diameter and near 4 ounces. I got a relatively good price as it came without the case, just a small premium over the melt price of the silver content. I don't like that the coins are not in solid capsules but a film lining, so I may break it up and put the 20 Balboa in a real capsule and the rest into 2x2 snap-locks. I will have to be patient in doing it and not do any damage. I also purchased another 20 Balboa on it's own as 1975 is the birth year of my eldest daughter. She was my only child born with duel citizenship before her mom became a US citizen. She loves Panama and has been there several times, but she scares the local police in Panama City as she argues with them, it seems.

Thanks Mest! your Panama set is an incredible set of coins too. (even if it was minted at the Franklin mint) I bought some from them too, way back in the past when they were popular.

Quote: I have the 1973 version, broken up in placed into 2x2s NumisEd - now I am encouraged. The packaging is not that appealing and would be difficult to store properly. 2x2s and/or capsules would be better.

A nice variety of recent acquisitions, everyone. Thanks for sharing!
@captainmandrake1, I do like the looks of that Morgan. Interesting toning on that one. Though the toning makes it a bit tough for me guessing a grade, my first thought was about MS62.

Went to one of the local church rummage sales and came across a new RedBook! I couldn't leave it! Now to find the accompanying silver medal...
