In today's mail. This twenty coin roll was an impulse buy. I'll crack it open later and see what all is in it.

I wonder if someone could buy $500 worth of 40% halves and see what dates turned up most easily. I would imagine the 1967 and 1969 would be the easiest to find, and the 1965 the hardest (other than the 1970, of course)

The breakdown in my 20 coin roll:
1965 - 1
1966 - 1
1967 - 9
1968 - 7
1969 - 2

To get a real average someone could buy a bag of 200 40% Kennedys for a little over $800. I've seen these on a couple of coin websites.

Very nice ASE GLB49!

Thank you. I found three of them at SD Bullion. I have mostly PCGS and very few NGC so I ordered them.

very nice ASE G!

Thanks Dearborn. I guess MS-69 is a few notches above brilliant uncirculated.

It is - and for the last few ASE's I needed to buy I have been getting NGC MS69 graded coins to break out for my Dansco albums. I get NGC's because I like PCGS and I'm a member of them and have a hard time breaking them out. I also get them graded at 69 because at 70 - they would have to stay in the holder because of the huge 'perceived' value increase over a 69.

@Dearborn
I usually get MS-70 but I came across the brown label and decided to place the order.

What I meant, when I buy graded coins that I plan on breaking out, I will get a 69 vs a 70. I have no issues breaking out a 69 - but I do with 70's
When I buy a graded coin I plan to keep in the slab, I'll aim for the 70 (in a PCGS slab)

I understand what you're saying. Since I don't break open slabs I'll always go for the MS-70. But, those brown label ASEs caught my eye.
If I ever finish my ASE Brilliant Uncirculated sets I plan on adding more ASE slabs to my collection.
