Hello, CalzoneManiac, I found a few sets on ebay and this is one seller's description: "The highest denomination coin - One Rand (KM# 88 - Antelope Springbok) was made of .800 Silver and weighs 15 grams".

Quote: How much do the 2024's cost? My pre sale price back in November was $34 but I see them now for $28 and $29.

...I know that these are as common as sand fleas, but I'm still amazed that one can buy a 449-year-old hand-hammered, silver coin, AU-BU condition, for less than the price of a pizza & a beer ...

Thank you jbuck and Hondo very much appreciated. GLB49 awesome coins as always, I wasn't very keen on the reverse design of the new Eagles but it is growing on me now and I feel I will have to get some soon. Mrwhiskers that is a great looking coin as well and it amazes me how coins of that age can still be in such great condition. I have a British penny that was made between 1250 and 1272 and is in AU condition and looks it was just minted, whereas I have some 1980s coins that look like they're 400-800 years old.
Cheers Bryan

Thank you, bryan. I remember when the new eagle design came out people either loved it or hated it. Maybe some people didn't like the fact that the shield, olive branch and arrows were eliminated since all three mean something specific. .
