And my first Nikolas ruble!
Not the greatest, especially with that nasty rim dent. But hey, these are sort of hard to find, especially for melt price!

Holey smokes... I haven't seen anything in this thread recently that can compare to that 1800 dollar. You should post that in the USA-specific thread.
Anyway... I'm not sure the next two are considered 'coins' in the true meaning of the term.. I don't usually buy NIFC but these were in the junk tub, I did not have much from this country and the 'bounty' I paid was their posted face value. Not until I was able to check Krause did I discover Liberia is one of those places that produces endless quantities of quasi-coins purely for collector-investors:

Also I seldom buy any of the larger British Empire low-grade-silver stuff that weighs down the tubs, unless it happens to be in near MS quality:

However, an older nicely toned near-MS Canadian dollar is always a nice find. I am gradually putting together a set of these:

THAT'S ALLLL for this year, folks! May your holidays be warm and jingly!

My first non silver buy! I went to the coin shop to buy a 2012 silver proof set and talked to the coin shop owner about starting to collect. He showed me a Red Book I told him I had
$4 and would like to buy a few coins. He said well look at these coins and it will get you started. He showed me what to look for in each one of these coins to tell the grade. He said keep these one of each kind and never buy anything in worse condition.
