I've been going through coins and these two stood out as possible Die breaks? I've never really looked for die clashes and breaks before. Still trying to hone the art of DD's. The 9 in 1957 whc. And could the 1951 whc be a possible small BIE? I can get more pics if needed. Thanks

Not die breaks but your close, they're die chips. The one in the date we refer to it as a broken die post, between the BE in liberty we call a 'BIE' cent which is worth like 50C-1$. (I have a thread about them feel free to check it out. Shameless self advertising)

Ok thanks. Wasn't for sure. My book said the BIE was a die break. So would this be the small BIE than and they known for the 51 WH? Are the die chips collectible ?

Wheat cents are abbreviated LWC (for Lincoln Wheat cent), not WHC.

It appears you have what I would call a "filled 9" in the date and a BIE in LIBERTY. The size of the break mostly determines what it is classified as. Most BIEs are probably die chips and not big enough to be called die breaks. The loose definition is that a defect changes from chip to break upon reaching four square millimeters in size.
