$4.84 in an hour !!!! Some digging. So far it takes me about 2 minutes to dig and sift through the dirt for the coin after I have a hit. I deduce from your hit rate I will get a little faster as time goes by.
Do you use one of those little hand held finders to check your dirt piles with?

I look forward to finding my first gold.

Hi Nohope

No I dont have a hand held pin pointer, I have through the years become quite good at pin pointing with my detector, and the whites is very accurate at reading the depth and target ID, this with experiance speeds up the process.

The clad coins came from a school play ground, I have not swept it for about a month, so there was an accumulation around the better play ground equipment it also helps that there is about a foot of wood chips on the playground, not alot of hard digging.

The gold came from a little place that I have been detecting now and then that has produced a few nice things.

What detector did you end up with ?

Nice gold! Too hot to stay longer? I couldn't possibly metel detect up here. If you could even dtect anything under the snoww an ice you'd still have to get threw it then dig in the frozen dirt, wich is near impossible. lol Well nice find

Hi Metalman
I bought an Ace 250 mainly because my wife wants to play too and it was the lightest one we tried.
I like it the only problem I can see is that it has a hard time with Nickels and I am still learning how to pinpoint with it. I think it will last me a good long time before I am ready to upgrade.

Hi Nohope

I have talked to several guys who use the ace they seem to do well, and one of them even said the machine was a killer for nickles.

You will find some good stuff !!! no doubt !

share the pics of your stuff, doesn't matter to me if its great stuff or just stuff, I'm always interested !!

HH
