Today is only the second day I have had my new toy.
Yesterday was spend in practice at the beach with a couple of beer cans, a spoon and Two Cents to show for it.
Today my wife and I went to a local primary school and checked out the playing feild. Two hours yeilded $1.16 and a bunch or unknown metal bits.
Not bad for a newbie. Can't wait to take my new toy next time I head over to Mississippi.

Hi Nohope

Beaches are pretty tough sometimes, due to the mineralisation in the sand and salt water,

I think you did good for the first couple of times out, the learning curve of these machines is steep, and it wont take you long to master it , in many different ground types and climatic conditions, dont give up on any spot that you find something, the signals will change with temp, humidity, and direction, pay special attention to where your machine pin points, start by marking where you think the target is and then by where it actually is , The gold that I found above marked by VDI but showed in the ID as foil, these little anomolous things with individual machines need to be noted.

Finding nickles is a good start, they are the hardest for a machine to ID, since pulltabs, can slaw, and several other different pieces of trash hit the same, silver laying the right way in the ground can also produce a nickle hit.

You did good!!! keep me up on your finds !!!

Rick
