Hello all

As usual, I was bumbling around the informational superhighway and saw this listing for a 5 TAEL gold "biscuit" bar with a c.o.a. of 00100, on the bar itself it was 000100. The bar itself possibly hides the first zero, but it does appear that the bar has 6 figures in it and the c.o.a. only 5. ? Altho to say it is somewhat out of my financial reach to say the least, I thought it odd, so I emailed the seller who said that it was the same bar/coa that was being sold.

My question is this: in all my year, I have never seen a gold 5 "tael" gold bar from PAMP. Do you think that they kind of are making a play on the COA number, as it seems odd to have the 100th bar available. My personal suspicion is that it is the first and possibly only 5 TAEL gold PAMP bar that PAMP has made, but they did not want to list the number as 00001 or 000001 on the bar or COA.

Of course, I could be and and usually wrong about such things, but I would be curious as to your opinion. I would love to buy it, but it would mean 3 months of eating and living in dirt to do so.

opinions are welcome, wrong or right, guessed or confirmed. here is the link...

also ran into this... I suspect that this one is a "stock" photo, but notice "222222" bar number and appears to have a different style of c.o.a., but perhaps this is because this is a gram weight bar, not a "tael".

then of course, there are the fake pamp bars... most all 1 oz...

check out the "magnetic tester" on that page, pretty neat...

more fake 1 oz pamp gold bars...

ok, to get back on point... do you think that the first bar in this topic, the 000100 or 00100 bar is the first 5 TAEL gold bar or the 100th? What do you think about the different c.o.a. type in the tael bar vs. the ounce bars?

In all my years and searching the net, I cannot find another TAEL one. Or do you think it is a fake? Personally, I think it and the c.o.a. is real as the seller has a very good reputation that I can tell (non-ebay). Too bad my uncle died a long time ago and left me no money... I have other gold taels in other forms... the Vietnam leaves, the doughnuts, but no bars or "biscuits" as gold tael bars tend to be called...

thanking you in advance for all opinions, right, wrong, confused, informed, factual, correct or downright moronic...

mike

I think you are probably directing your questions to the wrong people. I'd ask the firm that made the bars.
