https://www.ebay.com/itm/American-f...43663.l44720So this is the "original" listing. If you look at the pictures it sort of looks like an O right? Well if you scroll to last few it very much looks like an O.
SCORE!
Well it gets sketchy. The seller was evasive and odd. Now I don't know if the coin is fake, the pictures are purposefully deceptive, or maybe the coin is an 1909-D that was slight altered to look like an O.
I sat back and waited. It got sketchy. The auction was supposed to end today. In last few hours bidding shot up (from multiple established accounts) to like $15,000 something.
I went back during halftime of the morning NFL games and see those bids are gone and it sold for $1580.
Now 10 hours later the same seller relist it with a BIN for $1750 and it sells:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/American-f....m2748.l2648I was sure it was a scam then. I called
ebay (I am a real trooper!!). I got to a Trust & Security person or whatever. They were dispassionate but the man did say it was unusual and he would flag it to review it.
Within 30 minutes the relisted one that sold disappeared. Now it reappears.
So this is scam central here.
Add in that this account has zero selling feedback and his other listings are phone parts (which for whatever reason seem to be a magnet for scammers).
Now we are used to flagging current listings but
we can flag a sold listing to block a buyer from paying and going through the headache.
If you have a moment flag each of these "sold" listings just like you would a current listing. If works same way: it can get them removed and HOPEFULLY the "winner" has not paid and it will not allow them to send big money to this weirdo.
Edit:
Now a third relisting. Sold for $2499:
