Presumably out of their European arm... I guess the bad/inconsistent (USA scale) grading that seems to emanate out of both the PCGS and NGC Europe operations isn't enough: It's NOT a real coin, you "professional"!! Can't even call it a "fake" as the stylized detail isn't even close to exact - nor are the surfaces!! Find a new career!: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mexico-1-4...232964403056

Harsh. If true, wouldn't PCGS guarantee be in play?

Darn, if this had been posted sooner I could have shown it (the post, that is) to Jay Turner in person at the USMex conference in Scottsdale. I'm still traveling so maybe Numismat can follow up on Collectors Universe.

Numismat, not going to compare carefully right now, but I assume that IS, in fact, the same exact piece (same seller). He had it listed raw a few times, and then it disappeared for a while - apparently was sent off to be graded. While the seller himself really should know better (as was noted, just has the look of modern execution to it - it should smell "not right" even if not familiar with what the regal design elements on this coin are like), I'm going to bite my tongue... he does typically offer good material. Obviously this isn't his specialty - and now he has PCGS calling it a genuine 64, so at this point, who could ever now convince him of what it actually is?! *** Had seen the type several times before, and some searching just now brings up a few more. Shown first is a genuine 1802 for comparison:

After looking at the enlarged photos on the PCGS cert page, it seems you're right RW. I'll update the thread over on CU, thanks
Oh and 2K complimented your research :)

Has anyone reported this to ebay? Or tried contacting PCGS?
