Large Rock Dove Canadian Centennial Medal/Medallion. Polished copper or bronze, 38mm, considered to be hard to find. Catalogued by Brian Thompson in his Canadian Centennial Medallions and Collectibles as # LAR-1. There are gold plate examples out there considered to be scarce. Yours has a value of about $10CAD.

, there are actually three types, one is a copper-plated aluminum version, and a copper-plated copper-nickel version, as well as the gold-plated examples.

Sometimes they sell for more on ebay, as penny collectors sometimes get into the bidding...
