Nice coin, it was actually 30 pieces of silver. Every year every Jew had to pay a temple tax of 1/2 Shekel. The temple would only except payment in Tyre silver half and whole shekels. So Judas was paid the equivalent of the temple tax for 60 people to betray Jesus.
