Thought it was a 1796 Hairstyle 1, but I (just today) figured out the correct diagnostics for the hairstyles. I now know that it is a type 2.

What year do you think it is?

By the way, I originally had this in the Classic Coin Errors and Varieties page, but I now think that this would be a more appropriate page.

Conder101 is an expert on this. Will wait for his input, and I'd like to learn about this myself.

First 1 is clear. Last digit looks like a 1 to me. 1801?

I tweaked the title to grab his attention.

It seems conder has left the building. I have a very strong intuitive feeling that it's a 1798 but will wait to see. I'm almost certain the last digit is 8, but even before I looked at that, it just has that 1798 look through and through.
