Wow! That "coin" detail is not even close to being accurate. Of course, if I had not had a authentic coin to compare it to, I would never know the difference (until it was too late).

The kicker is that he states it's authentic in the description. Great buy for $150.

A quick search through a 2018 Red Book (which any collector can obtain for under $10) shows that reverse design was not used in 1837, the "50 Cents" design was used instead.

This may be a contemporary counterfeit, but I'm no expert on this series.

Contemporary counterfeit and high;y collectible as such. Probably worth more than a genuine coin in this condition would be.

Thinking this half is Davignon 1837 2-B which according to this site is very common http://www.cccbhcc.com/the-most-com...vignons.html

Value between $50 and $80 in my brief research for similar examples.

Conder's on target, as usual. There's a great book out on these contemporary Bust Half counterfeits by Davignon. He breaks each year down by variety. Most are quite rare in terms of surviving numbers. Condition is typically low, poor-fine, often damaged. Collector values generally range from $50 on up into the hundreds. There's growing collector interest in these.
