64 Minimum but IMO has enough eye appeal for 65, maybe 66 if it looks better in hand

looks 64 to me. the first pic shows some chatter behind liberty's head. the 2nd pic shows a hit behind the eye and a couple across the cheek. the 3rd pic confirms the face hits and shows some disturbance in the left obverse field by the nose. hits appear light. the slightly different lighting in the pics are helpful.

MS63 on this one to me, I don't feel the color (which is nice) is enough to push it any higher. Way to much cheek chatter to make a MS64 IMO. Also being the most common high graded Morgan dollar found it really needs to be much better to grade any higher. Even a MS63 maybe to high for me on an 1881-S a solid MS63 in any other date except 1880-S.

yes! Was cracked out of a MS63 PCGS holder so I could sell it easier.

Good call - this is a coin that would sell for more out of the holder. The only people making the money on this would be the TPGs, I'd imagine it will be purchased and sent in again. making the TPG money at least twice.

For an 1881-S it needs to be above superb to make a really high grade by the TPGs.
