Good morning, afternoon, evening, all.
I am relatively new to the world of coin collecting. I kind of came into it through another hobby I picked up a few years back. Metal detecting. I've only found modern clad coins with my detector, so far. I wanted to gain enough knowledge to know what I may dig up.
I'm sure that I got the urge to finally "jump" in and begin collecting the same way a lot of other people have. By watching the late night coin dealers on TV. At least that motivated me to begin reading books, learning from reading the internet and watching videos on-line.
I'm sure I will gain a lot more knowledge participating in this forum / web-site. Everything that I have read so far has been extremely informative. Thanks ahead of time for all the gained knowledge.

to CCF fellow Michigander. Have you checked out our metal detecting section yet? Those TV dealers are fun to watch, but watch out of what they are dealing .As to videos, consider the authors of those videos. Check out coops videos,he is a member here and knows his stuff. What make/model is your detector?

My detector is Bounty Hunter Time Ranger. It does more than what I know how to use. Bought it off Amazon for $150. I guess they were dumping them cheap before going to a new model.

Welcome... While the TV guys are fun to watch, they charge a lot more than you can buy stuff elsewhere.
