Has anyone been successful in using the Celestron pro on their mac/apple? I was SO excited to upgrade, but now I'm ready to take a hammer to it.
I've tried on my mac mini & also my laptop. Both have upgraded, current software per requirements. I've tried all of the apple algorhythms. Celestron's is a little more difficult, as it suggests installing the CD. Apple doesn't have CD drives.
I've plugged in my celestron & then fired up both macs. The light is on the celestron. I open Photo booth. I cannot choose Celestron from the camera tab. "digital camera" is the default. The screen is black.
If I open Celestron, it says that no camera is plugged in.
Now what? I've followed all the suggestions. I really wanted to use this camera. The 2 MP plug-in just wasn't cutting it for me.

Don't feel bad - I bought a Celestron scope from Amazon and it was not compatible with my Windows 7 program - could not get clear pictures, sent it back and got a Plugable 2.0 and it works great.

You do have to install the CD they send with it PLUS you have to install the software they have on their online website.

The newer macs don't have CD-rom drives, so the CD is useless.
I did download the driver from the Celestron website.

UPDATE: It's fixed!
I called the company, and they told me that I actually received the newer version (the older one has the light adjustment on the cord, the new one doesn't). They emailed me an updated driver, and it works. I'm posting this in case it helps someone else.

BTW, this scope is amazing! I've been trying to upload a pic, but I'm having trouble getting it down to size. Yes, I'm using the optimizer.
