Not sure this is the right section, sorry. I have a Celestron 44302 that I had stored away for awhile. I went to use it the other day and noticed that the rubber coating on it had become tacky. Is there a way to clean it up? I sent an email to Celestron a few days ago but have not received a reply, yet. Thanks as always.

It may be a sprayed on rubberized coating - usually can be cleaned off with a cloth and rubbing alchohol

Never tried acetone. My spotting scope had that sticky problem and Rubbing alchohol cleaned it right up.
