Assuming this is genuine (I'm no expert), I'll say AU-55 with some striking weakness evident.

Obverse rims show metal movement...maybe the coin has been removed from a mount?

The Obv. is darker than the Rev., which may indicate that it was a pendant at one time or another. The coin has definite AU details. The Rev. maybe more. The several rim damages detracts a lot of value and I also don't like the pits or abrasions that the word LIBERTY has. The rarity of the coin and price difference between the grades would certainly be of major consideration. So not more than EF-45 is my opinion.

EF-45, possibly details depending on how the rim damage looks in hand.

If I had the wherewithal to buy this beauty at AU50 I would snap it up. I see it as AU53.

53 is my guess but lacking eye appeal for me. SOmething going on with the surfaces, but could be the photo. Nice bold C.

Rough planchets are the norm for Charlotte gold. My grade AU53 and quite possibly AU55 depending on how it looks in hand. I think this coin would straight grade as a Charlotte issue, whereas it might have a harder time if it were a different date from, say, San Fran or Philly.
