The reverse damage would probably get this one a Details grade.

This'd be worth just a small premium over melt. For all the 1921's, there's little numismatic value to be had up through the lower MS grades.

I don't see that your specimen has been deliberately defaced, so I'm with IndianGoldEagle in thinking it'd get an unannotated grade. The heavy wear to the eagle's breast might knock it down to VF35, though. But whether VF or XF there'd be no economic benefit whatsoever in submitting it for certification.

Those digs on the eagle's breast are certainly PSD and will immediately details the coin unless the grader never looks at the reverse. Looks like ex-jewelry mount based on the reverse. Obverse has issues as well. XF40 details. It has been cleaned.
