Got this unlabeled unknown planchet today. It remains a mystery to me but thought I'd toss it up and see if anyone might have an idea on what it could be.

It is light copper color, and I played around with the color balance in Photoshop until I matched what I see with my eye to what I see on the computer screen. The diameter is 18.8mm, and the weight is 2.5g. It appears to have the rim (hence a planchet) and a neat beveled edge.

Got any ideas? Too light for things like Euro 2 cents and Panama 1 Centavo and while weight matches it is too small for Bahamas 1 cent. My initial thought was an un-clad dime planchet but seems too heavy for that. I'm clueless.

Isn't a dime blank punched out of strip of clad metal? Could it be a U.S.cent planchet, maybe it spreads to the normal size of 19mm when minted?

Any reason it can't be a cent?

It looks like a zinc cent planchet, the weight and diameter makes it sound like zinc planchet... and it probably smells like one too
