New to the forum/new to finding hidden treasure... can anyone help me identify what I have and how best to take care of/preserve?

1905 $50 note very good condition (no wrinkles) with blue seals. 3069 Whitney National Bank of New Orleans

Multiple $10 notes with red seals and one $10 note with red seal and buffalo on front

Not sure how to post pics from cell phone but will gladly forward pics via email or however works best. Would like honest opinion on what I have. Thank you!

With a little practice you can learn to upload photos here. We'd love to help.

It's a bit tough without photos, but from what you've indicated the $10 red seal w/ a buffalo might be a series 1901 Legal Tender note. If so, it's called a Bison note and is highly collectable.

The other $10s with red seals are likely to be legal tender notes as well (red seals are typically, but not always, legal tender notes).

The $50 is a National Bank Note as you indicated.

From your short descriptions, all these notes could be worth a few hundred dollars each. Definitely worth taking care of. As far as preserving them goes, I'd recommend that you get some large size mylar currency sleeves and put the notes in those.

Just a STRONG word of caution though. Without photos, my guesses may be way off the mark

There's a tutorial on uploading photos that may help you post pics.

Welcome to CCF Brooks.

Photos help. Without photos we would like to know the series (date), denomination and full serial number including letters before and/or after the number. And, general condition, if possible.

Actually without photos we can't really help you. There are a lot of (not very good) fakes out there that are easily identified, and condition is critical as well as potential variants to determine value.

The 1905 date refers to when changes when the plate was changed. The note is from the Series 1902, which began in 1902 and lasted through the end of large size era in 1929.

Yours is either a Date Back type which will have green script "1902-1908" on the back under the words "National Currency" or a Plain Back without the dates.

Do not try to improve them as doing so will hurt the value. Best to get a few Mylar currency sleeves and put one note per holder.
