Appears to be a Struck Through at the back of Roosevelt's Head on the Obverse? What type of Material was Struck Through? Any thoughts? Thanks.

I would also think it could be a Struck through wire, the trench does not show any signs of metal displacement.Good one.

I'm thinking thread. Note how the affected areas are sometimes not straight? On a struck through wire they are more linear. They can see be from bent wire. But this one looks more like thread to me.
