If genuine this one could be worth as much as $2000US. Looks AU-58. You definitely need to get this one certified for authenticity. The strike on this one is unbelievably strong.
It is struck from an open collar so should be thiner ans slightly larger in diameter than the closed collar strikes after 1829. Someone on here that specializes in these can check for die varieties. I don't have a catalog or would check that for you. First step in weeding out Chinese counterfeits.
Thanks for all the advice. I have been collecting for many years, and have focused on buying good coins (except for those darn Indian Princely States, which is probably not worth the effort). Most of the US coins in my collection come from a single seller who had the coins in his family for many years.
