Nothing particularly special about this coin -- except to me.
High grade 1941 Swedish 1 Krona.
Not particularly expensive but hard to find at a reasonable price.
I scanned it through a 2x2 with the resolution a bit low.
Looks MUCH better in hand.

So why is it important to me?
It is for my birth year set and one of the last needed that is affordable.

Congratulations!

It looks like a lovely coin even in those photos.

I can sympathize with your comment about the difficulty to find relatively common world coins in nice collectible grades for a world birthyear set (mine is in the 1950s.. and Scandinavian coins were also a challenge for my year). For 1941 I suppose you also had the challenge of war era coins in aluminum and zinc?

And iron.
But as long as I ignore such high value items as Vatican City gold and German military issues I'll get there someday.

My high grade 1941 US set (proofs AND business strikes in MS-65 and -66 and PF-66) wasn't inexpensive.

It sounds like you've set your sights high!

In my world birthyear set, I've only aspired to my favorite single type from each nation, and ruled out gold and commemoratives to the extent possible (without a commemorative there would be no Czech coin). And have made the occasional additional compromise.

I have managed both Iran and Mexico without gold, but those would have been my preferences, and still might appear.

And then there is Belgium ...
