I was wondering if you guys thought how dark this nickel was part of the toning or the annealing procces

Possibly in a transition mode to normal Jefferson's . Looks kind of light for a B/B .

I would guess that one could tone. It looks like a black beauty with dark gold and purple toning. The pictures are a little light. The color looks too solid to be toned like that, when moved in the light the dark color is the color of the coin and the rainbow toning varies and moves along the edges. The coin is colored that way with some surface toning I believe. It would be a very pretty black beauty, but it might not be one just as coop says
