Of course, imitation Krugerrands have been made in gold and silver (and base metals) for decades.
I am starting to see reputable bullion dealers advertise authentic silver krugerrands issued by the South African Mint. However, I'm not finding any sign of them on the S. African Mint's site.
So is there such a thing as an offical Silver Krugerrand? Or are they all just unoffical pieces issued by the "Sunshine Mint," as is stated in this auction? https://www.ebay.com/itm/2018-South...Mj:rk:4:pf:0
Yes there is. Last year they were collector issues, 2018 is the first bullion silver coin. These are from the South African Mint. I think MCM made an error in the listing. I bought a few of these.
IndianGoldEagle - Thanks for the info! However, I'm still confused. So is it the case that the South African government contracted "Sunshine Minting" to produce "official" silver Krugerrands? This still just seems kind of odd.
