I'm pretty new to coin collecting, I have a few old coins knocking about that I have either kept when I got them in my change or have been handed down to me. I'm looking to increase my collection and starting with 50p's and also the new 10p's. Has anyone got any advice on the best way to get hold of them without having to spend the extortionate prices people are selling them for on ebay? Hoping you'll get one in your change is a bit random and hit and miss for me.

Go into a bank and ask for eg.£30 worth.
Take out any you want to keep then take the others back ,just carry on untill you get to the scarce ones or the ones that are missing.
