I am relatively new to coin collecting and am starting with 50p's and the new A to Z 10p's as they are in current circulation. Does anyone have any idea what the easiest way is to get hold of them is as hoping to get them in my change is a bit haphazard for me. Also the prices for them on ebay is a bit crazy too so any help or advice would greatly received.

You might be able to visit your local bank an make withdrawals in coin then look through them at your leisure.

Hi Badger1979 and
I've sorted through 5,000 50p coins (obtained from the bank in £10 bags) and I posted the results of a survey of the coins on this Forum:

https://www.google.com/url?q=https:...bDjnsNGTFVVW

That will give you a reasonable idea of what to find if you get some from the bank.

I have sorted through several hundred 10p coins without finding a single alphabet one!

I normally spend the unwanted 50p coins by using them to pay for my grocery shopping using the supermarket's self-service tills!

That's a great but of research, kinda making me think if I see some on ebay that aren't horrendously priced it might be worth a punt. Not getting a kew gardens one out of 5,000 coins shows how difficult it is. The annoying thing is when they first came out I had one but I think I spent it...
