What would be the best and safest method to ship an $2,000+ coin?

but do not declare it as a coin
declare it as a collectible

or antique

It may be safer to ship it Fed Ex UPs or DHL as they can track it better and to my knowledge they do not have regulations about shipping coins.

I agree with this due to there is a requirement that everyone handling that item must sign for it. Might be a little on the expensive side but well worth it.

With that kind of money......it's worth the extra expense.

Thanks for the info. Should I box it or use a bubble envelope?

Think they have special envelopes for registered mail. Also, don't forget to insure it.

I don't mean to derail the topic but, out of curiousity, has anyone here had a situation where they bought or sold coins and had to ultimately make an insurance claim? I am curious how that process works.
