Shouldn't be a problem but the curve WILL be an interesting challenge. They did it for the baseball coins so probably not an issue

They did but they had to come up with new slabs and we still haven't seen how much curve at the bigger size there will be. With how oversized the NGC puck slabs are already if the curve is extreme the NGC slabs may end up being the size of an Xbox lol.

The NGC slabs are waaaaay too huge already. I have a few of the earlier (2010) NGC graded pucks but quickly switched to PCGS after seeing how much space they took up...(6x7 inches) add some depth and we have some serious real estate

Haha it's so true. I remember seeing one of their slabs for the first time and thinking it was some practical joke. I have no idea why they decided to use something you could serve dinner on for those

Further market research on what interests potential young numismatists is that they prefer coin sets with multiple coin types rather than multiple issues of the same denomination. For themes, space-related and dinosaur-related products or packaging are most popular.

The Mint will soon start promoting numismatics to youth by introducing Mighty Minters, a group of five children and two animals. For particular products, a Rocketship set will be offered in February 2019 with space artwork that glows in the dark.

Later will come a set of Explore and Discover coins, which will include examples of the one cent through dollar coins plus a blank cent planchet. Late in 2019, look for a youth coin and currency set which would include a set of the five proof America the Beautiful Quarters along with a $2 Federal Reserve Note.

The Mint is revamping its website to be more appealing to kids and adding a new section titled "Gifts For Kids." For gift-giving purposes, the Mint found that the two optimum price points for customers are $10-$15 and $15-25.

Doesn't say what kind of coin is included...

Anyone know what pricing is going to look like for the various Apollo coins? I am interested in picking at least some of them up but I'm not sure if this will be something that sells out fast or something that lingers for a while and I can pick later for under what the Mint will be selling them for.

Pricing hasn't been listed on the web site yet but I imagine the gold and 1-oz silver coins will be similarly priced to those commemoratives released in previous years. Of course gold coins will fluctuate according to market pricing.

The Kennedy sets and the 5-oz coins, not sure. The ATB 5-oz pucks go for somewhere around $150; I'd expect these proof ones to be perhaps $25 more. But that's just a guess.

They're going to be a minimum of $200. There's a 50 dollar surcharge on every 5 oz puck

Correct....definitely a minimum of $200 because of the surcharge and being a proof. I'm gonna state $219.95..may be ten bucks high but we'll see...

The Apollo 5 oz coins aren't called pucks. These 5 oz coins are concave and are called saucers. Keeping with the Apollo theme you could say they are flying saucers......haha

Re: sellout....the P puck has settled in at around 16-17k mintage. The bullion version normally is at 30-40 k with a bump to 70/80k for some issues BUT the bullion are much cheaper...

Who knows. Very interesting and unique design for this big boy...but 100k is a lot for a $200+ product.
