I think I might be interested in the Apollo five ouncer..a five ounce silver PROOF could be interesting...and, depending on mintage numbers, the rest of the silver Apollo issues
...and maybe the coin & currency set (mintage dependent)

1) I'm a little surprised the Apollo set is coming out so early. A July release release would be more fitting.
2) I was hoping for a combined gold + silver set for Apollo, like there was with the NPS set in 2016.
3) With all these reverse proof dollars scheduled, I would also hope for a reverse proof dollar set. But alas, I don't see one.

I'm in for the Apollo series. Probably not going in for the gold coin though, but who knows, we shall see.

Quote: I'm a little surprised the Apollo set is coming out so early. A July release release would be more fitting. The coins of the Apollo program, like most other modern US commemorative coin programs, are issued to raise funds for their sponsors. In the case of the Apollo program, the sponsors/beneficiaries are the Smithsonian Institution's Air and Space Museum, the Astronauts Memorial Association and the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. The coins can only be sold during calendar year 2019. To maximize the funds a commemorative coin program can raise for its sponsors/beneficiaries, the Mint typically places the coins on sale early in the year regardless of actual anniversary dates. One of the two commemorative programs typically goes on sale in January, the second in March/April.

I agree. Not sure which of these I will be getting, but getting something I will.

Quote: I assume someone has mentioned the American Eagle 2019 One Ounce Palladium Reverse Proof Coin by now (Fall)? I'm not sure what there would be to say about it. It appears to be an annual release now with a fixed design, like the gold Eagle/Buffalo and silver Eagle. I'm curious about the "Native American $1 2019 Coin & Currency Set". A few years back, these had enhanced uncirculated coins but there's no description of the product yet.

There are a few things that I'll be interested in seeing how they work out - The Jefferson Ag Presidential Medal entry indicates San Francisco production. None of the others indicate this (and neither did this year's Washington and Adams medals). Will this be a mint marked medal? - Looks like there may 3 items focused at young collectors? Rocketship, Explore & Discover Set and Youth Coin & Currency Set. Just what is the Rocketship product? - The Apollo 11 Half Dollar Set indicates an S mint mark. I would have thought it would be S & D if it includes both the proof and uncirculated half dollars. Is this just an oversight not indicating it includes the Denver half dollar or is it something else? - Seems unusual that the reverse proof dollars are being offered individually and not in a set. Will there be a set as well? - I too wonder if the Native American C&C set will include a distinctly finished P dollar, or just the regular uncirculated version and what currency it will include?

Kinda puts it in the novelty/MIGHT buy ONE arena... Never will sell 100k...proof price + surcharge = a tad too expensive

Never will sell 100k...proof price + surcharge = a tad too expensive 100k sales isn't out of the question being the first curved puck. Depends what the big boys do with it, 50k probably would have been assured to sell out. I do agree 100k is disappointing and high. I really can't wait to see what the TPGs have to do to get them to fit into a slab

They have been in slabs for 8 years. Shouldn't be a problem but the curve WILL be an interesting challenge. They did it for the baseball coins so probably not an issue The denomination will be a buck instead of the twenty five cent value of the present pucks Here's the excerpt from the public law with ALLOWED mintages: Quote:The coins will be curved, much like the Baseball HOF commeoratives. Like the BBHoF commems, all coins will have a common obverse and reverse. The law allows the following mintage: 50,000 90% $5 gold coins (proof and uncirc) 400,000 90% $1 silver coins (proof and uncirc) 750,000 50¢ clad coins (proof and uncirc) 100,000 .999 $1 silver 5ozt pucks (in proof only) Probably should be a unique thread for this issue...

-As for the NASA coin I'll probably pick up the 1 oz silver proof as that's more my style. Mintages seem a tad high on all of them. -The RP palladium will more than likely be another quick sell out. Not bad for a "muffler" coin, as someone referred to it on another thread -On the AI dollars, would've been nice if they had made a set that contained 1 each (proof, rp and eu). Looks like the rp dollars will be sold individually. Wonder what kind of packaging they'll be in if they're supposed to be the same size as the Native American and Presidential dollars.

I missed it earlier, that this palladium coin would be reverse proof. Now I want one.

I use/break the Uncirculated set to make additions to my existing albums. Sarcastic Warning: I love how I get to wait until spring (was May in 2018) for my subscription to be fulfilled.
