Large date. The small date has more of a curve (hook) from the 'neck' of the 2 and also rounds out at the base. The large date has a sharp downward angled line (like a slash mark: / ) from the neck to the base, at which point the base line goes backward very sharlply, not rounded like the small date. Hope this helps.
The problem for most people is,you would need a side-by-side comparison of two coins a LG and a SD. I like using the "snowman" analogy, on a SD the top part of the 8 is smaller like the head of a snowman would be. I stated this sometime ago in another post. John1
