If anyone knows their value and can grade it and maybe knows a story behind the coin, I would really appreciate it.

F-15 details, holed. Worth just slightly more than bullion value.

Well it is a 2 reales from Spain, but I cannot find an exact match to the mint in numista. That means that it interesting or I am not doing a good job searching.

Since it is holed, that would reduce the value considerably, but I cannot establish a value yet for an unholed example.

oriole, I've run into several cases where Numista doesn't have a coin listed that is in the Krause books.

You have a pistareen from Madrid, Spain from 1720. Issued under King Philip V, it is denominated as two reales, but oddly, five such coins are needed to equal the Spanish colonial piece of eight. These coins are short by one fifth from the international silver real. In America, at five to the Spanish Milled dollar they would be worth Twenty Cents. The half pistareen was chosen by Thomas Jefferson to represent the tenth of a dollar unit "disme." No point in grading it since it has a hole. Pistareens were exported with the 1721 Fleet and traded through the Caribbean, reaching America well before the Revolution, where they traded as Virginia shillings. They stopped trading in America by about 1800, but continued at far flung island economies such as the Azores for longer.
