here is another one I found. A 1940 LWC with a clipped planchet.

This shows the Blakesley effect and appears genuine to me. Nice find.

A lot of plus and minus on this one.
Plus:
1. The devices fade to the straight clip areas on both sides.
2. There does appear to be a Blakesley.
3. The ends of the clipped area looks correct.
Minus:
1. The rim may have taken a hit on the Blakesley area almost to the point that it looks fake.
2. The 'L' looks weak? Why? Not sure.

But after the plus and minus, I feel it is the real deal.

Weak L - part of the Blakesley effect?

Of I forgot the rolled up area on the obverse. Possibly raised during the setup process. The jury is still out yet on the 'L' yet.

Coop, The obv shows a full 360 degree coin, while the rev shows a straight clip. But with the weakness in the wheat ear it's a clip. Looks to me like it's a tapered clip with a full obv, and the taper on the rev side

This is a straight clip, so the affected area is the edge of the metal and sometimes the edge is no square.
