Hi there,

My husband found several 1967. 1966, and a 1964 half dollar and we were wonder if half dollars from those years are actually silver?

Then he also found what we think is a Morgan silver dollar, but we aren't sure.

And finally, he found this Ben Franklin coin which I've never even seen before.

to CCF. The 1964 half is 90% silver and the 66-67 are 40%. The 52-D Franklin is worth around $10,the Morgan $40.66-67 half $3 each depending on condition.

The silver dollar, Franklin half dollar and 1964 half dollar are 90% silver and carry nice premiums even for common dates. In this case, if that is an '84S dollar, it's a slightly better date. The other halves you mention are only partly silver.

to the CFF!

The dollar is an 1884 S (at least I see a tiny lil S on the back). Hubby found em in his grandpa's old toolbox that he got after grandpa passed away.

That's our plan!! Coin and bill collecting is super new to us, but we've had a lot of fun with some items we've found from our grandparents. They aren't worth anything substantial, but they're really fun to find and learn about! We're gonna keep it all in a little lock box for our kids and grandkids!

Sounds like a plan. Protect them in their current condition. Put them in some 2x2 flips. A lock box sound okay. Please not back in a toolbox!

mrsmullen516, congrats on your finds. Please don't try to clean the coins, and definitely don't brush or wipe them with anything. Even a soft cloth will leave hairline scratches on the surfaces.
