@pj42, for sure it looks like you may have some die chips in between the letters of LIBERTY, although when I blow up and enhance you pic, it looks like there may be some damage to the I. A clearer pic of just this region would help.

As to value, we seem to see lots of mid to late 1950's BIE examples posted to CCF. One of the collectors of errors will have to weigh in whether your example caries a numismatic premium over the 3-5 cents that a common date LWC will command.

One other thing, is that a small piece of tape on Abe's shoulder? If so, I might give this coin an acetone soak to remove the adhesive. On the other hand, if it is a lam, then this coin's value might have just increased.

Sharp close-up would help.

There is no tape on his shoulder. Could that be a die crack or just something else. I am trying to take clear pictures.

Could be a couple of chips there, along with some circulation damage. But little premium I think - these are just too common.

As far as value goes, go to ebay and do a search for "BIE penny" and filter to sold/completed and you can see what they go for. I can tell you I recently sold a lot of 4 more modern BIE pennies for $6.50. Nothing that's going to bring a lot of money, but any day that you can turn a few cents into a few dollars is a good day.

Couple of more pictures, I hope they turn out. It looks like they are die cracks on his shoulder. Popejoy~

JC is correct of course, LDB34-1956-001 for the LIBERTY die break. The shoulder is Retained Interior Die Break RIDB-1C-1956-01. Nice coin.
