Im pretty sure this 1983 p nickel is some type of error and was hoping to find out what type if I could get the community's oppinion it would be appreciated some say it is severe die deteroiation. What I dont understand is the wave like lines clearley visible in pictures 3 and 4.

@SD nailed it--the die from which your nickel was struck was pretty worn. This is a very good example of this phenomenon, but I don't think that your coin is worth over face value.

Unfortunately, the dies used in '83 were used, quite literally, to death.
