Nothing to really add other than this note looks almost exactly like another national banknote pictured in the most recent issue in Coin World, albeit a different bank.

WELCOME to the forum. You have a 1929 type 2 national bank note from Red Lion in York County PA. I am very familiar with this note since I am the president of the York Coin Club and collect York County PA national and obsolete notes. Your note has a Kelly book value of $200 in fine condition. I notice your note has some strong folds. Please don't store it folded. Did your wife get this in change?

No problem. As I stated above it list for $200. In 1929 you have type 1 and type 2 notes. The big difference is the type 1 notes have the charter number in large black numbers and the type 2 notes have the charter numbers in large black numbers and small brown numbers. This is the number 5184 in your note.

761000,

Welcome to the forum. Family friendly bunch here willing to help. Keep in mind that this is a family community and folks will make comments, even if they are not answering your exact question. I see you made your post at the same time as pyrbob, so I think you were directing your comment at steamwalker.

Having said that, people will answer, as you will have read with bob's reply by now. Comments like yours above are not needed, but patience is.

Wow! Great tip! My wife and I eat breakfast there now and then. I live within a mile of the diner. What a small world.

Hmmm... I wasn't trying to be coy or unhelpful. I was just mentioning a source that may have additional info. Sorry.
