I am trying to complete a Canadian Silver Dollar set and see in Charlton that the 1952 year includes:
- FWL (4 lines touching the bow of the Canoe)
- SWL (3 or 4 lines stopping short of the Canoe)
- NWL (No Water lines at the bow of the Canoe)
- ARN (1 and a half lines that don't touch the Canoe)
I have found all but the mythical beast 1952 Arnprior. Not even a case of available but out of my price range (like a coin struck 1967)... It just is nowhere I have been.
I know ARN dollars and have a few from other years but the 1952 seems to be eluding me.
I did a search on this forum and found a reference to ICCS classification of REV-003.
http://goccf.com/t/252831&SearchTerms=1952,Arn Is this an Arnprior variant?
I have a few Charlton's from different years and in the catalogues up to 2002, there is no mention of either SWL or ARN in 1952 but in my 2016 catalogue it is clearly listed. Are there any good references for Canadian silver dollar varieties other than Charlton (I don't have the 2012 issue).
Neither NGC nor PCGS list a 1952 Arnprior on their pop reports and of course ICCS are not online and CCCS don't differentiate varieties on their online Pop report. It is also not listed on CoinsandCanada
http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...ar-1937-1952My experience is somewhat limited... I have looked at around a hundred 1952 dollars and never identified an Arnprior but I know there are folks on this forum who have seen thousands... Does the 1952 Arnprior exist?

... If you have one, can you post a pic please.
I hope it does exist because continuing the hunt has kept me from opening the page on more esoteric varieties such as HP doubles, coin struck, diving geese and the 1966 SB Mule... a quest that my wallet will protest.
