These are so-called "roller lines".

When they flow consistently across a coin, something mechanical happened to the stock material. On the the woody coins they are not consistent. One the roller lines, they are topical. Wear off during circulation. Woody coins flow through the planchet. They do not wear off with coin circulation. Totally different causes. Woody coins are a poor stock material metal issue. Rolling lines are surface.
