I don't have money to be saving $20 bills that often SO I was wanting to know if this one is worth keeping.

I work at a bank and got this one in today. 00040579
it's year 2004 too if that helps any

The definition of "low serial" is 5 or more leading zeros. I haven't found one with 4 leading zeros yet, so if I did I would keep it just for my personal entertainment. Yours is not a keeper -- go out and blow it on ice cream :-)

I think I saw in another post that you keep anything that starts with three or more zeros but I could be wrong. I dont really collect bills unless they happen to be in my change.

Three zeroes are uncommon but four zeroes is half the serial number and most of the threads here I've read say to start saving at the 4 mark.

Spend it. All dollars are one of a kind when you look at the serial number.

Now lets say you withdrew $40 from your ATM and the second bill happened to be numbered 00040578 or 00040580 then yea you could save both bills.
