I have a 1982 penny that appears to be a 1982 D small date. The top of the 8 is smaller than the bottom and the 1, 8 and 2 appear to be aligned top and bottom. Any input would be appreciated, thanks, Sam.

It's a large date. One of the easiest things to do is to look at the 2.
